Lyceum International School, Panadura opens Keion Sports Grounds

The opening ceremony of the Keion Sports Grounds of Lyceum International School Panadura, was held recently in the presence of the Founder, Dr. Mohan Lal Grero, Coordinating Principal Dr. Kumari Grero, Chief Visionary Officer Nikitha Grero, members of the management, special invitees, staff and a large number of parents and well-wishers.

Keion, symbolises a gift from Zeus, the mythological Greek God of the Sky, Energy and Strength. Located in a serene environment in Kiriberiya, Panadura, the Keion ground is almost five acres in extent, landscaped with lush green grass, a standard cricket pitch and a basketball court. The cost of this project was 350 million, which is a generous investment by the school for the future generation. 

‘Mens sana in corpore sano’ translated as ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body’, Dr. Mohan Lal Grero, during his address at the event, highlighted the importance of sports for a child’s development. He further shared his joy of fulfilling a long-held dream of providing Lyceum Panadura with its own sports facilities. 

The members of the management officially inaugurated the grounds with a friendly cricket match led by Chief Visionary Officer Nikitha Grero who scored a magnificent 6 runs on the very first delivery. The students of Lyceum Panadura can now use their own modern sports complex for athletics, cricket and basketball and other sports activities.
