Lyceum Nugegoda clinch U-15 girls’ and boys’ basketball championships

Lyceum International School, Nugegoda dominated the Under-15 inter-international schools basketball tournament which was organised by Gateway College Colombo recently.

The school was able to seize the overall championship in both the girls’ and boys’ categories.

The girls’ team emerged as champions out of 12 competing international schools. In the finals, Lyceum, Wattala squared off against the Nugegoda team. The Nugegoda parent branch proceeded to exert its authority over its sister school, romping to an emphatic 40-28 victory.

In the boys’ category, Lyceum, Nugegoda beat out 15 other international schools to become champs. Once again they confronted Lyceum Wattala in the finals, with this match turning into a much more competitive encounter. However, at the final whistle Lyceum, Nugegoda walked away 46-42 winners.

Chenuli Galallge and Sanjaan Gunaratne were named the Most Valuable Players while Nuyara Ratnayake and Ahad Rasheed became the Best Offensive Players in the girls’ and the boys’ categories respectively.
