The second cricket encounter 2023 between Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) Veterans and the Col. Henry Steel Olcott Memorial Sports Foundation Veterans, for the “Bandula Warnapura Memorial Challenge Trophy” will take place on Saturday, 25 February at the MCA Grounds, commencing 10.00 am. Late Bandula Warnapura, who was Sri Lanka’s first test Captain in 1982 was a founder member of the Olcott Sports foundation in 1996.
The inaugural encounter was played on 13 February 2022 at the MCA Grounds, where Olcott Schools led by Arjuna Ranatunga won the match by 22 runs.
The teams will be led by two Anandians- Ashley Ratnayake (MCA President 2012/ 2014) will Captain the MCA and Arjuna Ranatunga will Captain the Olcott Schools.
