Mahesh wins Victoria Golf Resort January Monthly Medal

Amidst tough competition, Mahesh Wijeratna emerged as the overall winner with a remarkable score of 69 nett, showcasing exceptional skill and consistency throughout the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) Monthly Medal which took place at the club course in Rajawella recently.

In the tough nett segment for ladies, Anumi Karunathilake emerged victorious with an impressive score of 75 nett, securing her position as the nett winner. Following her closely behind was Ingrid Baum, earning the nett runner up title with a score of 78 nett.

In the Gents segment, Suresh Fernando and Derrick Ponnambalam displayed exceptional skills, both securing a score of 71 nett in the end, ending in a tie. On the count back method, former Royalist Derrick Ponnambalam won the event.

The Gross category witnessed another tough battle with players showing their skill and determination. M.E. Mora and Melanie Bond showcased their class in the ladies segment, with M.E. Mora securing the gross runner-up position with a score of 111, while Melanie Bond claimed the gross winner title with an impressive score of 88.

In the Gents segment, Rashed Alsuwadi and Yuki Asakawa battled it out for supremacy. Rashed Alsuwadi secured the gross runner up position with a commendable score of 86, while Yuki Asakawa emerged triumphant as the gross winner with an outstanding score of 81.

Youngster, Anumi Karunathilake claimed the title for the longest drive, while Mike Cooke demonstrated precision to clinch the nearest PIN award.
