The Sri Lankan football outfit made an extraordinary comeback in the latter half to level scores at four-a-piece in their Football Sri Lanka (FSL)-organised Inaugural Four Nations International Invitation Soccer Tournament’s opening encounter, which concluded at the Racecourse Ground – Colombo yesterday.

At the short breather, Maldives were leading 3-0.

Maldives skipper, Akram Abdul Ghanee drew first blood for the visitors with a goal in the eighth minute of game. Two minutes later, Mohamed Fasir scored their second goal. Just before the short breather, Maldives scored their third goal through Ibrahim Hussain.

After the turnaround, Ali Ashf Aq scored the visitors’ fourth goal. For Sri Lanka, it was a one-man show by Ahmed Waseem Razeek, who scored all four goals for the home team.
