Negombo CC had Group B leaders NCC in a spin on the first day of their Major Club Emerging three-day tournament match played at the NCC grounds yesterday.
On a turning track NCC’s left-arm spinner Yugeesha Dishan took seven wickets for 77 to dismiss Negombo CC for 235. But in reply NCC collapsed to 59-6 by the close falling to the spin of Pasindu Ushettige and Nishan Peiris who have so far taken four wickets between them.
In the other key match Group A leaders Moors SC did well to bowl out CCC for 241 with their main bowler Theesan Vithusan once again amongst the wickets claiming four. Moors SC were 14 without loss at the close. All the matches will be continued on day two today. (ST)
