Ladies overall winner Hue Bandaranayake

Experienced golfer, Manjula Chandrasoma and Hue Bandaranayake blazed through by winning the Overall Gents and Ladies titles respectively at the CDB October Monthly Medal Golf Tournament 2024 of the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) which took place at their club course recently.
In the Ladies Division Hue Bandaranayake emerged as the standout competitor, clinching both the Gross and Nett Winner titles with a remarkable Nett score of 65 and Gross score of 97. Kalyani Ranasinghe secured the Nett Runner-up position with an impressive score of 74 Nett.
In the Ladies Bronze Division Dhanushi Wanasinghe delivered a strong performance, taking home both the Gross Winner title with a score of 92 (B/B9) and the Nett Winner accolade, also at 69 Nett. Sandra Cadien showed her skills by finishing as the Nett Runner-Up with a score of 69 Nett.
Anouk Chitty not only won the Gross title with a score of 79 but also secured the Nett Runner-up position with a score of 72 Nett. The Nett Winner went to Tiru Jesudasan who shot an impressive 69 Nett.
In what is often considered the future of the sport, the Junior Division witnessed Yannik Kumara capturing the Gross Winner title with a solid score of 71. Sanjul De Silva followed closely as the Nett Runner-Up at 68 Nett, while Kian Niyarepola took home the Nett Winner title, shooting an impressive 65 Nett.
The Masters Division was fiercely contested, with Bandula Weerasinghe showing his golfing skills to claim the Gross Winner title with a score of 74. A V Rajendra demonstrated his skills to finish as Nett Runner-up at 67 Nett, while Tyeab Akbarally held his ground to win the Nett Winner title, secured through an impressive 67 Nett (B/B9).
In the Senior Division, seasoned golfer Kumar Boralessa emerged victorious as the Gross Winner with a score of 79. Wijitha Perera showed a commendable performance to secure the Nett Runner-up title at 70 Nett, while Subramaniam Yogendran claimed the Nett Winner title with a score of 69 Nett.
In Division C, Rathvan De Livera earned the Gross Winner title with an 85, while James Rebert and Reyhan Morris battled it out for the Nett positions, both achieving scores of 65, with Reyhan ultimately winning on B/B9. In Division B, Gihan Punchihewa took home the Gross Winner title at 84 (B/B9), while Ramesh Carvalho 68 Nett secured him the Nett Runner-Up spot, alongside Prasan Fernando, who captured the Nett Winner title with a fantastic score of 66 Nett. The highlight of the tournament came in Division A, where Manjula Chandrasoma triumphed as the Gross Winner with an impressive 73. He further showed his dominance by taking the Nett Winner title with an outstanding 64 Nett, while W.A.K. Fernando finished as Nett unner-Up at 70 Nett. Hue Bandaranayake was recognised as the CDB Overall Ladies Winner with an exceptional 65 Nett, while Manjula Chandrasoma celebrated his title as the CDB Overall Men’s Winner with an impressive 64 Nett.
