The Royal Colombo Golf Club is abuzz, as the 133rd Sri Lanka Amateur Championship 2024 advances, showing top golfers from Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan.
The aggregate scoresheet, as of day 2, continues to build as players vie for positions in the match play round of 32, scheduled for tomorrow.
Leading the charge in Division 1 is India’s Manoj Sreeramappa, who impressed with rounds of 67 and 69 for a total score of 136. Following closely is Varun Muthappa with rounds of 70 and 71, totaling 141. Sri Lanka’s own M. H. Chalitha Puspika put forth a solid effort as well, recording 73 and 71 to reach 144, keeping him in a strong position among elite competitors.
In the ladies’ category, one more round of stroke play awaits, where Sri Lanka’s junior sensation Kaya Daluwatte currently tops the leaderboard. Kaya’s talent has captivated audiences, and she is well-positioned to clinch a prominent place in this tournament.
Sri Lanka’s junior golfers Reshan Algama, Jevahn Sathasivam and Jacob Norton all booked their berths for the top 32 among the Gents segment.
