The 18-hole Mark Bostock Memorial Golf tournament will take place at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) tomorrow and on Sunday (13 May). Tee off will be at 7 a.m. on both days. This is the 11th year for the tournament since its inception in 2008 where Chris Holloway won the initial event. Chamara Abeyratne will be defending his title this year.

The golfing fraternity will long remember the former John Keells Holdings Chairman Mark Bostock as the visionary behind the Victoria Golf Course and its holding Company, Rajawella Holdings Ltd. Mark Bostock conceived the idea of a golf course in the centre of the island, in the scenic area bordering the newly-built Victoria dam. This tournament is held in his memory and to celebrate all that is good about the game of golf. The Mark Bostock Memorial Trophy is the flagship tournament and a board event at the Victoria Golf & Country Resort. The tournament is held to remember Mark Bostock and is linked to history and tradition.
