The much-anticipated Mastercard Mercantile Rugby 7s is poised to make a triumphant return this September, bringing with it a dynamic showcase of athleticism, strategy, and team spirit. Set to take place over three thrilling days from 26 to 28 September, the tournament will be hosted at the iconic CR&FC Grounds in Longdon Place, Colombo 07.

This year’s event promises to be a premier sporting spectacle, with teams from across the Mercantile Sector competing for the prestigious title in what is expected to be a fiercely contested battle. As the excitement builds, Team Managers and Captains are urged to attend a crucial meeting on 4 September 4 to finalise the tournament’s key details. Entry submissions will close on 13 September, with the eagerly awaited tournament draw scheduled for 23 September.

Returning as the title sponsor for the second consecutive year, Mastercard reaffirms its commitment to this distinguished event, underscoring the tournament’s significance in the local sports calendar. All eyes will be on 3DH International, the reigning champions who secured an emphatic victory in last year’s final against the John Keells Group. Their win marked a moment of redemption after narrowly missing out on the championship the previous year.
