Chennai Super Kings, amidst speculations of interest from another IPL franchise, posted a cryptic message on Saturday, 9 December.

The Sri Lankan pacer, retained by Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2024, shared a picture with the caption, “No money can buy loyalty.”

This reaction follows CSK’s decision to retain Pathirana, who played a crucial role in the team’s 2023 IPL victory, claiming 19 wickets in 12 matches at an economy rate of 8.00.

A shoulder injury sidelined the talented pacer during the 2023 ODI World Cup, despite his promising performance in the 2023 Asia Cup, where he secured 11 wickets in six matches.
