Reuters: Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao on Thursday (12 July) called his upcoming opponent an “aggressive fighter” even as said-fighter, Argentinean Lucas Matthysse insisted he was ready to defend his title.
The two boxers appeared on stage in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a pre-fight news conference.
Matthysse, the current World Boxing Association welterweight champion, said his team had put in more than 120 days of hard work in preparations for the fight.
Pacquiao, after a 20-plus year boxing career and having briefly retired before, said he chose to fight Matthysse so that they could create “a lot of action in the ring”.
The bout is scheduled to happen on Sunday (15 July) at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur
