The much awaited 45th Mercantile Hockey Association seven-a-side Hockey Tournament 2023, which was postponed due to bad weather conditions, has been rescheduled to be held on Sunday, 11 February at the P. Sara Oval from 7.30 a.m.
24 teams will play in 5 divisions as follows.
- “A” division (5 teams) contested for the Dennis de Rosayro Challenge Trophy.
HNB “A”, Commercial Bank “A”, MAS Holdings, Allianz Insurance “A” and Sampath Bank “A”.
- “B” division (4 teams), contested for the Singer Sri Lanka Challenge Trophy – Hayleys Group “A” HSBC, Browns Group and John Keells Group.
- “C” division (4 teams), contested for the Lifebuoy Challenge Trophy – Seylan Bank, Nations Trust Bank, Singer Sri Lanka and SLT Mobitel.
- “D” division (5 teams) contested for the Edmond J Cooray Challenge Trophy – David Pieris Motor Company, Airport and Aviation Services, HNB “B”, Orient Finance and Inqube Global.
- “E” division (6 teams) contested for the MHA President’s Challenge Trophy – Commercial Bank “B”, MAS Holdings “B”, Sampath Bank “B”, HNB “C”, Browns Group “B” and Hayleys Group “B”.
