Mercantile Rugby Sevens back on track after lapse of two years

The Mercantile Rugby Football Association (MRFA) under the leadership of Nishantha Wickramage and his team is making elaborate arrangements to hold its 50th Tournament on a grand scale from 23 to 25 September at the CR & FC Grounds, Longdon Place. 

The Women’s Tag Rugby Sevens will be held alongside the men’s tournament 

The tournament will be conducted in four segments, namely the “Cup”, “Plate”, “Bowl” and the “Shield”.

All teams with three or more “A” division players will be grouped into the “Cup” and the “Plate”; a maximum of two “A” division club players are allowed to play in the “Bowl” and the “Shield.”

All players must be in employment with their respective firms before 9 September.

New firms seeking membership to participate, could obtain membership forms from the aforesaid MRFA Members or could be downloaded via MRFA web site – www.mrfasrilanka.com 

The Captains and Secretaries briefing along with the official draw for groupings will be held on 19 September, at the CR & FC pavilion, 6 p.m.

Entries have been invited for both tournaments from the MRFA affiliated firms and will close on 12 September with the following MRFA members:
