Mercantile Rugby Sevens on 27 and 28 September

The most looked forward Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2024 will be worked off on 27 and 28 September at the CR and FC rugby ground at Longdon Place. This event is conducted by Mercantile Rugby Football Association (MRFA) and sponsored by Mastercard, who will be their main sponsors.

First day kick off is scheduled at 8 a.m.

Mercantile Rugby Tournament holds a cherished place in the annals of Sri Lankan rugby. tracing its origins back to the 1950s, this competition has long been regarded as the most prestigious event for non-club, corporate-backed rugby teams in the country. Over the decades, it has showed the talent and passion of players from diverse commercial and industrial sectors, providing them a platform to show their skills alongside the country’s top club players.

In the Cup segment JKH - A, JKH - B, CDB, Pearl Beach, Sampath Bank, and Brandix. The Shield category there will be MAS - A, Mercantile Investments, LOLC, NTB, HSBC, Ceylinco, Commercial Credit, Galle Face Hotel, MAS - B, Commercial Bank, Foresight Engineering, HNB, Hela Clothing, Central Finance, Moresand and LSE.
