The 48th edition of the Mercantile Rugby Football Sevens 2018, conducted by the Mercantile Rugby Football Association (MRFA), will kicked off today at the Race Course International Rugby Football Stadium.
Kick-off is scheduled for 1.30 p.m. today.
The tournament, which will be worked off over three days, ending on 22July with the knockout stages, will see 33 teams locking horns at the annual rugby carnival. This will also be a yardstick for the national selectors who will be keeping a close eye on the players for the Asian Games in Jakarta next month followed by the Asian Rugby Sevens 2018 three-leg tournament in Hong Kong, South Korea and Sri Lanka.
