Harith Senanayake leads the Thomians

Thulaib Hassen leads Royal

Both Royal and the Thomians will be booming with confidence when they meet each other at the Michael Gunaratne Trophy encounter today at Mount Lavinia.

Both teams won their opening encounter. Thomians beat Peterites and Royal had a cake walk against the newcomers, Maliyadeva. The trophy encounters started in 1962 with Royal leading the tally with 32 to Thomians 19. There were five draws in the series after 1962.

Royal’s best win was in 2018 under cracking centre Shabith Feroze.

Harith Senanayake will lead the Thomians while Thulaib Hassen leads the Reid Avenue outfit.

On form, Royal should pull it off.
