Moose Clothing Company sealed a four-year deal (2023-27) with Sri Lanka Cricket to provide official clothing to the Sri Lanka men’s and women’s national cricket teams commencing with the upcoming men’s three-match ODI series against Afghanistan next month. The company will provide official clothing covering all formats of the game including the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events.

Marking the partnership between the two entities, the official ODI jersey for the Sri Lanka v Afghanistan ODI series was revealed at a special ceremony held at the Ramada Hotel in Colombo on Thursday.

Sri Lanka Cricket Secretary Mohan de Silva said, “Moose Clothing is a subsidiary of Brandix Apparels Ltd., a renowned Sri Lankan apparel manufacturer that brings in the required quality and competency to match the Sri Lankan valued brand. This company was selected through a very competitive bidding process. Moose Clothing came out with a very attractive bid and was able to overbid our previous clothing partner (MAS Holdings).”

“Before establishing this long term partnership Moose Clothing has been supporting SLC in various ways. They were sponsors of clothing during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. This partnership comes at a time when Sri Lanka is having a very crowded international cricket program and definitely Moose Clothing is bound to benefit through all these tournaments which are lined up for the next several years. We are delighted to have a partnership with a company of this magnitude and reputation. We look forward to a very cordial and friendly relationship in the coming four years with both sides benefiting from each other’s strengths.”

Moose Clothing CEO Hasib Omar said, “The partnership aims to bring together two of Sri Lanka’s main strengths: apparel industry and cricket. We would like to use this partnership to showcase the sparkling creativity, talent and strengths of Moose Clothing on the global stage. Sri Lanka cricket is an international brand. It is one of the few things that are competitive on the world stage. Moose Clothing can also become an international brand. That’s the idea behind partnering with SLC for the next four years. I hope this will help us become an international brand. The last five years we have come a long way and a lot of that has to do in partnership with SLC.”

“The bond behind the Sri Lanka cricket jersey goes beyond being just a piece of clothing worn by the players,” said Moose Clothing Head of Marketing Kithmini de Silva. “It serves as a powerful representation of the deep rooted passion both the Sri Lanka team and its supporters have for the game. The jersey stands as the symbol of the nation’s resilience and embodies the spirit of a proud nation that has overcome challenges and emerged from them. The design element chosen for the jersey gives a feeling of excitement, enthusiasm and determination. We like to share the cricket jersey with cricket lovers through our retail network to proudly wear the jersey and display their support for the team.”
