Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) will partner with Moose Clothing as their official sponsor for the Asia Rugby (AR) Sevens 2021 Tournament which is scheduled to take place in UAE on 19 and 20 November. The esteemed clothing company will be coming in as the National rugby teams’ sponsor for this event.

This Asia Sevens 2021 will be used as a yardstick for the Asian Qualifier of the Rugby Sevens World Cup 2022 which is to be held in South Africa as well as a ranking tournament for the Asian Games 2022 which is scheduled to be held in Hangzhou – China in 2022.

There is no better time for this sponsorship to come as the AR President Qais Abdullah Al Dhalai is present in Sri Lanka as well.

Speaking to Daily FT, Moose Clothing Executive Director Hasib Omar said: “The game of rugby to me is all about determination, courage, skill and endurance – both physically and mentally.

“Sri Lanka Rugby has endured over twenty months without a single game, now Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Rugby have the opportunity to show the world what it’s made of, and the South Asian Rugby sevens is a great platform to start with. We are keen to see that the ladies’ team also performs well as we strongly believe in equal opportunity and we feel that sport is a good way to set this example for Sri Lanka and Asia too.” (SJ)
