Sri Lanka came up with another disappointing batting performance to lose to Bangladesh by six wickets and thereby bow out of the ACC U19 Asia Cup cricket tournament being played in Dubai.
Invited to bat first, Sri Lanka managed only 200-9 in 50 overs with seven batsmen getting into the 20s but none going on to make a big score.
Bangladesh in reply, powered by an unbeaten 116 off 130 balls (11 fours, 2 sixes) by opener Ashiqur Rahman Shibli coasted home in the 41st over scoring 204-4.
With a loss to UAE as well, Sri Lanka ended the tournament with only one win against Japan and ended third in Group B with two points.
The top two teams from each group qualified for the semi-finals.
Bangladesh topped Group B with six points and qualified for the semi-finals with UAE who finished second with four points.
From Group A; Pakistan (6 points) and India (4 points) qualified for the semi-finals.
