Muttiah Muralitharan
NewsWire: Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan, who underwent a successful coronary angioplasty with stents on Sunday, has been discharged from Chennai’s Apollo Hospital.
In a press release, the hospital stated that Muralitharan could resume his normal activities.
The hospital further said Muralitharan had undergone an angioplasty procedure after being admitted for cardiac evaluation yesterday.
Three blocks were detected in three of his arteries during a routine check-up conducted a few weeks ago in Colombo.
He had reportedly been under medication before undergoing coronary angioplasty with stents in India.
The 49-year-old is the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who are currently playing their Indian Premier League 2021 matches in Chennai.
Muralitharan requires to undergo quarantine for six days prior to joining SRH.
