NDB Bank recently announced its remarkable success at the 39th Mercantile Athletic Championship, held from 9 to 11 August, 2024, at the prestigious Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo. Competing against athletes from 82 member companies and 52 institutions registered with the Mercantile Athletic Association, NDB Bank secured an impressive 23 awards, marking a significant achievement in the bank’s athletic endeavours.
The championship, which has now been officially added to the World Athletic calendar, featured a wide array of track and field events, including high jump, long jump, hurdles, javelin throw, shot put, 100 metres, 200 metres, and 400 metres. NDB Bank’s athletes excelled in these competitions, demonstrating exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
