NDB Bank recently rewarded two players from Royal and Trinity College respectively with two NDB Zee accounts for emerging as the ‘Player of the Match’ at the 1st and 2nd legs of the 76th Bradby Shield encounter.
Continuing its strong association with the Bradby, Royal College Skipper Kaveen Sasanga was awarded an NDB Zee Youth Account by NDB Bank CEO Dimantha Seneviratne at the 1st Leg, while Shaveen Premaratne of Trinity College, Kandy emerged the Player of the Match at the 2nd leg held in Kandy and was awarded an NDB Zee Youth Account by Senior Vice President Sanjaya Perera. Royal College hosted the first leg of the 76th Bradby Shield Encounter played against Trinity College, Kandy and won 29-0.
In the 2nd Leg, Trinity College defeated Royal College 26-21 but Royal took custody of the Bradby Shield going by the aggregate in both legs. Royal finished with an aggregate of 50 points compared to Trinity’s 26.
The Bradby Shield Encounter – commonly known as «The Bradby» – is the blue ribbon of Sri Lanka›s school rugby union season. It is played annually between traditional rivals Royal College, Colombo, and Trinity College, Kandy.
