The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) conducted three annual events, showcasing some excellent golf on the greens of the Hill Country Club course last weekend.
Millennium Trophy 2024
The much awaited Millennium Trophy 2024 which attracted a good numbers from their members saw Ravi Liyanage winning the Gross event with a score of 21 and runner up was Surain Premathilake with a score of 16.
In the Nett segment, Anura Fernando won the event with a score of 32 points while K. Wigneshwaran was the runner up with a score of 29 through count back method.
Ganeshan Sriharan won the nearest to the pin while K. Wigneshwaran won the longest drive segment.
Golden Putter
After a keen tussle Kemith Hathurusinghe won the event on count back method ending with a score of 36 while Sudath Kumara too ended on the same score but ended as the second best in this segment.
Life Member Cup 2024
The inaugural Life Member’s Cup 2024, featuring thrilling contests saw Sudath Kumara pulling off a fine win securing a score of 36 while closely followed Rohan de Silva ended as runner up with a score of 35.
Rohan De Silva won the nearest to the pin in this segment while Leon Perera walked away with the longest drive prize.
All these three tournaments were a great success, with golfers exhibiting high levels of skill, precision, and determination across both days in the century plus years old NEGC.
