The historic Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) marked the long weekend with a significant step towards environmental conservation by initiating a large-scale tree-planting campaign and managing plastic waste not allowing to go in to historical Gregory Lake.

As part of their commitment to preserving the region’s natural beauty, the club rallied members, residents, and volunteers to plant native trees across the club course.

This effort not only enhances the biodiversity of the region but also sets a precedent for sustainable practices within the golfing community.

This initiative aligns with NEGC’s long-term vision to combat deforestation and promote ecological balance in Nuwara Eliya, a city renowned for its lush greenery and cool climate. By involving the community and fostering environmental stewardship, the campaign highlights the importance of collective action.
