NSSF Novices Airgun Championship 2022 begins

The NSSF Novices Airgun Championship 2022 organised and conducted by the National Shooting Sport Federation of Sri Lanka (NSSF) began on Thursday at the NSSF Shooting Range in Kohuwala. 

It will continue till Sunday.

This competition, which is a stepping stone for the new and aspiring shooters who have not competed in air pistol and air rifle events before, will be conducted on paper targets. Events will be held for Men and Women in Open, Youth and Junior categories in 10m Air Rifle and 10m Air Pistol at 10 firing points at the Kohuwala facility. 

The Youth category will be for shooters below the age of 18 while the Junior category will be for shooters between the ages of 18 and 21. The Open category will be for shooters above the age of 21.

The competition will be conducted as per the current ISSF rules and regulations, and shooters coming through affiliated NSSF clubs will only be given the opportunity to take part.  Results of this four-day meet will be considered by the NSSF selection committee if required for updating the national pools.
