Nadeeshan (14/116) bowls SSC to victory

Kavindu Nadeeshan, the former Dharmasoka Ambalangoda leg-spinner produced a sensational spell of bowling to capture 14 wickets for 116 runs in the match to help SSC beat Kurunegala YCC by nine wickets at the Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegala – the opening weekend of the SLC Major Club Under-23 tournament.

Nadeeshan returned figures of 6/38 and 8/78 as Kurunegala YCC were dismissed for 176 and 240. Only opening bat Kosala Ravindu took the fight to Nadeeshan scoring 120 and 88 in the match. 

SSC were the only team to grab full points while Tamil Union, Nugegoda SWC, BRC, Moors SC, Kandy Customs SC and CCC took first innings points, with two other matches ending without a decision. – (ST)
