The National Ranking Golf Tournament for January 2025 concluded with Chalitha Pushpika accounting for the Gents segment, while H.N. Navinchandra won the Ladies segment, at the picturesque Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) over a four-day event which concluded in the Hill Country last weekend.

Chalitha Pushpika clinched the top spot in the Gents category, with an impressive total score of 295. Pushpika’s consistency across all four days, including standout performances on Day 3 (70) and Day 4 (74), showed his dominance on the challenging course. His ability to handle pressure and adapt to varying conditions proved decisive in securing his victory.

He was closely followed by S. Dhuwarshan, who finished in second place with a solid score of 299. Dhuwarshan’s steady rounds, highlighted by his remarkable Day 1 performance (72), kept him in contention until the very end. On Day 1 he led but had a bad Day 2, which dropped him down, ultimately coming back strong on the last day with a score of 73.

Chanaka Perera rounded off the top three with a total of 301. Perera demonstrated resilience throughout, particularly with a strong Day 3 showing (73), ensuring his place among the tournament’s elite.

In the Ladies segment, H.N. Navinchandra delivered a good performance to emerge as the champion. With a commanding total score of 371, Navinchandra’s consistency over four days, including an exceptional Day 4 finish (91), set her apart from the competition.
