Nestlé Milo kicks off 49th Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Championship

  • 5,000 athletes from 200 schools compete in six different age groups

The 49th Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Championship 2024, sponsored by Nestle Milo, kick-started at the Sugathadasa National Sports Complex, Colombo yesterday.

The opening ceremony of the championship was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Education Ministry Sports Director Athula Wijewardana, Nestlé Lanka Managing Director Bernhard Stefan, Nestlé Lanka Dairy and Beverages Director Mohamed Ali, Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association Adviser Krishan Duminda, Nestlé Lanka Sponsorships and Activations Head Sajeewa Wickramasinghe, and Sri Lanka Schools Sports Association President Maduka Dasaman Fernando.

Over 5,000 athletes from over 200 schools across the country are competing in six different age groups.

The event will run till 14 July when the awards ceremony will take place with the participation of Education Minister Susil Premajayantha and other distinguished guests.
