Nestlé Nestomalt powers cycling races at 48th National Games

The 48th National Games kicked off last weekend (15 and 16 June) in Mahiyanganaya, with the walking and cycling marathon races witnessing a participation of top athletes from around the country.

Having been a part of Sri Lanka’s biggest marathons for over 35 years, Nestlé Nestomalt was proud to jointly organise the games this year with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

Results of the cycling racing event:

Cycling (men):

1st place – L.S. Chamod de Silva, 2nd place – S.A.S. Deemantha, 3rd place – H.M.S. Pinto

Cycling (women):

1st place – W.A.A. Sandamini, 2nd place – A.M.D. Dilrukshi, 3rd place – U.N. Kumarasinghe

The winners of the cycling marathon were awarded cash prizes, with first place receiving Rs. 50,000, second place receiving Rs. 40,000 and third place receiving Rs. 30,000. Furthermore, the athletes who finished among the top 10 were also awarded special cash prizes.
