The Ministry of Youth and Sports and Nestlé Nestomalt have joined hands yet again, to power the progress of Sri Lanka’s talented athletes at the 47th National Games to be held on 8 and 9 October in Gampaha. Over 800 athletes from around the country will showcase their talents, with opportunities for the winners to be considered for the national pool. Sharing his thoughts on Nestlé Nestomalt’s long-standing support to the marathon sport in Sri Lanka, Nestlé Lanka’s Vice President - Dairy Ruwan Welikala said: “It has been a pleasure to witness past winners of the National Marathon going on to represent Sri Lanka and excel at international events. As such, we are proud to power the ambitions of promising young talent together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports this year as well as helping them be 100% in body and mind.”
Consisting of 31 events altogether, the main event – the National Marathon, as well as cycling and race-walking events will be held as per the schedule.
