Liverpool: Sri Lanka had to bow down against the superpower of the defending champions Australia in their last match of the preliminary round of the Netball World Cup 2019 as the island nation was beaten by 99 goals to 24.

A thrashing from 11-time champions Australia. They fall just shy of three figures as they beat Sri Lanka in their final stage one match to qualify as winners of Group A.

Caitlin Thwaites finished with sensational figures as she missed just one of her 66 shots. That’s a 98% shooting accuracy.

Australia have surged to a hefty lead over Sri Lanka as Caitlin Thwaites netted all 14 of her shots in the first quarter to give Australia a lead of 19-6 goals.

The defending champions were looking to maintain their 100% record and finish top of Group A.

Australia lead 47-12 at the end of the second quarter and dominated the sessions with quality ball handling

Australia have extended their lead over Sri Lanka at the end of the third quarter. They are going to the top of Group A. Caitlin Thwaites has still only missed one shot… 50/51.

Defending champions had no considerable resistance from the opponents and scored another 28 goals and the Lankans saw only three goals for their credit.

Stunning shooting from both sides. Only one shot has been missed by each of the Australian shooters and G.S. Caitlin Thwaites has netted her other 34.
