New Sports Minister assumes office

New Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage assumed office yesterday.

By profession, Gamage is a Chartered Accountant and was appointed to the new Parliament via the National List of the ruling National People’s Power (NPP).

He is a member of the NPP’s Economic Council and served as the Colombo District Chairman of the National Intellectuals Organisation. Previously, he had served as Deputy General Manager of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

The Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry’s new Secretary is A.H.M.U. Aruna Bandara.
