Former Trinity, Royal, CR & FC, Sri Lanka sevens and fifteens player and current Kandy SC fly half, Nigel Ratwatte will lead Kandy Sports Club   for their encounter against Bahrain RFC which will take place on 31 August at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium. This will be the first game of the West Asia Club Rugby Championship 2018 encounter.

Kick-off is scheduled at 4:15 p.m.

Kandy will miss the service of more than 10 players with half of them on national duty at the Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia.

Dhanushka Ranjan, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Jason Dissanayake, Danushka Dyan and Gayan Weeraratne are all in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Ashan Darling, Damith Dissanayake, Dimithri Wijetunge, Richard Dharmapala, Imad Riyal and Anurudha Wilwara, all recovering from their injuries, will not play in this encounter.

This will give a good opportunity for the school leavers joining the Up Country Club where five players will be making their club debut in this game. Bahrain RFC who will arrive in Kandy on Thursday got eight contracted premiership players plus three of them from New Zealand.
