Former Kingswoodian, Kandy SC, Navy SC player, Trinity, Kingswood, Isipathana Coach and current Joes head coach Nilfer Ibrahim was entrusted with the coaching duty for the second and third leg of the Asia Rugby events which will take place in Kore and UAE later next month. He was selected after some magnificent performances at the Commonwealth Games in England earlier this year.
Former Vidyartha, Trinity, Kandy SC and National player and current Isipathana head coach Saliya Kumara will be the head coach for the Women’s outfit which will be focused on very closely after some ordinary performance at the Games in England.
Both Men’s and Women’s started their training in Colombo 2 days back. Men’s outfit will miss both Diluksha Dange and Anurudha Wilwara as both are recovering from their injuries and will be available only in a month.
Men’s team: Dharshana Dabare, Nuwan Perera, Shashika Fernando, Sudaraka Dikkumbura, Rifan Mohamed, Ovin Hettiarachchi, Anjula Hettiarachchi, Avishka Lee, Janidu Dilshan, Danushka Dyan, Chathura Seneviratne, Gemunu Cheetiya, Mithun Hapugoda, Ramesh Fernando, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Tharinda Ratwatte, Nigel Ratwatte, Kavindu Perera, Buddhima Piyarathna, Heshan Janson, Richard Dharmapala, Adeesha Weerathunge and Akash Madushanka.
