Niloo and Dhanushan win Donald Steel Golf Championship 2022

Ever Green lady golfer in the country Niloo Jayathilake continued her winning streak of trophies this time in the Central Hills when she accounted for the Ladies Gross Winer (Pam Fernando Trophy) at the Donald Steel Golf Championship 2022 which took place at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) last weekend. The Men’s segment saw youngster K. Dhanushan winning the event for the very first time.

Niloo was in peak form in tandem after she accounted for the Commanders Cup, Ladies event only two weeks earlier in China Bay, Trincomalee. Her powerful strokes plus accuracy was a class act and constant occurrence. This was her sixth in the history of the tournament. 

Youngster K. Dhanushan too was in sparkling form at his home course putting his name on the board for the very first occasion.  

Another golfing sensation from the Central Hills, Ahalya Rajan too blazed through when she accounted for the Victoria Bowl. The GM trophy was won by former Rajan golfer Air Vice Marshal Udula Wijesinghe while in the same segment for the Ladies was won by Clare Oxlade.

Over 100 golfers teed off in the 24th year of the Donald Steel Trophy which was very well organised by the VGCR and headed by General Manager Asela Wavita.
