The eagerly anticipated Donald Steel golf tournament for 2018 will take place at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort course on 17 February from 7.30 a.m.
Voted as one of the 100 most beautiful courses in the world and number one in the Asian subcontinent, the par 73, 6,974-yard championship course was designed in 1997 by internationally acclaimed golf course architect Donald Steel according to USPGA standards.
The tournament will feature one day of competitive golf in a stroke play format. The tournament will be played over 18 holes of the Victoria Golf and Country Resort.
The players will be given a feel of playing in a professional tournament through the use of top quality collateral and administration. Victoria Golf and Country Resort members and non-members from all over the country, and even from overseas, will be vying for the trophies on offer.
Nimal Wettimuny will defend the Donald Steel title while in the Ladies’ event the Pam Fernando trophy will be defended by its 2017 winner Anouk Chitty.
