SKY Cricket Women’s team win both series in Malaysia

The SKY Cricket Women’s team from Sri Lanka sponsored by Nippon Paint Lanka on a tour of Malaysia recently, emerged winners all the way when they beat the Malaysian Women’s National Team in both the T20 series and the 40-over series. SKY Cricket won the 3-match, T20 series 2/1 and the 40-over, 2-match series 1/0. “This is a sponsorship that we are very proud of,” said Nippon Paint Lanka General Manager Nemantha Abeysinghe. “All the players are from the outskirts of Colombo and also from low-income families. We took 14-players to Malaysia and 11 of them had fresh passports; it was their first overseas visit.
