Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has stated that there is no financial dispute between them and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and whatever dues that are outstanding will be settled amicably.

SLC was reacting to reports that SLC and PCB were at loggerheads over extra expenses during Asia Cup 2023.

“There was a budget which was done for the Asia Cup, so according to the agreement the PCB are supposed to send their team to clear everything and resettle the payment,” said Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva.

“The PCB has already paid us 75% of the budget and there is another 25% pending for which they have to send their team and sit with our team and get everything cleared and settle the payment. It’s just that they have to go through the invoices and settle the full payment as per the agreement. There is no dispute as such.”

“What has happened is there is a payment which needs to be settled to the hotels so they have appointed a travel agent who has to settle it. The travel agent’s payments have to be settled by PCB. There was a small amount where they were disputing which they wanted to get it cleared. The undisputed amount they have promised to settle by the end of

this week.”

“It has been pending because of the tours, so hopefully they will send the team by next week to sort that out. People without knowing the background to it make a bit of a fuss. We brought it up at the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) meeting in Bali last week when discussions about payment came up.”

The Asia Cup 2023 was moved to Sri Lanka with part of the matches being played in Pakistan due to the BCCI unwilling to send its team to Pakistan, the original host. Sri Lanka hosted the majority of matches nine with Pakistan hosting four.
