Noordeen stamps his class

Royal Colombo Golf Club’s (RCGC) June Monthly Medal tournament delivered an electrifying display of golfing skills across multiple divisions. The prestigious event witnessed some tough competition among skilled players vying for top honours. In the top division (A) played from 0 to 9 handicap, Noordeen Sethwala showed his class by winning this event by scoring 70 in the net segment. Gehan Siribaddana was placed second with 72.

In Division A, featuring handicaps from 0 to 9 gross, Husni Uwise claimed the honours with a stellar 72 gross score.

Division B, encompassing handicaps from 10 to 18, saw Romesh Abhayaratne dominate both the nett and gross categories. His remarkable 68 nett secured him the nett title, while his 78 gross earned him the division’s gross crown.

Dr. Pradeep Edward’s exceptional 59 nett took him to the Division C nett championship for handicaps 19 to 28. Chavinka Sumanatillke followed closely as the runner-up with a 63 nett, securing the division’s gross title with an 82 gross score.

The Seniors Division witnessed Kumar Boralessa’s brilliance as he clinched both the nett and gross titles with scores of 74 nett and 81 gross, respectively. Rienzie Fernando was the nett runner-up with a 76 nett.

Anura Somaratne reigned supreme in the Masters Division nett category with a stellar 66 nett, while Lalith Pinto finished as the runner-up with a 68 nett. Bandula Weerasinghe’s 77 gross earned him the division’s gross honours.

In the Junior Division, Kaiyan Johnpillai and Nidushka Bandaranaike shared the nett runner-up position with identical 76 nett scores, with Johnpillai prevailing on a scorecard playoff. Jacob Norton captured the gross title with an 81 gross.

The Ladies Division showed remarkable talent, with Jade Jiggens clinching the Silver Division nett title with a 70 nett and Anouk Chitty securing the gross honours with an 85 gross. Sanduni Wanasinghe dominated the Bronze Division nett with a 68 nett, while Dr. Pravina Dunuwilla claimed the gross title with a 91 gross. In the Ladies Seniors Division, Kalyani Ranasinge emerged as the nett champion with a 74 nett, and also won the gross title with a 109 gross score.
