Novices Lasith and Thusith win SMSC Members Day Rally 2020

Novices to the rally circuit, Lasith Manujaya navigated by Thusith Pathirana won the Members Day Rally as well as the Novices Event at the Southern Speed Fiesta 2020 organised by the Southern Motor Sports Club and held in Matara. 

Buwaneka Wijesinghe navigated by Suranga Buddika who also collected 12 debit points were placed second as they arrived early at two check points.  Sam Chandrasoma navigated by S.M. Methusanka were third.

The 100km route plotted by Rahal Uluwita under the guidance of Rally Guru Andrew Silva was flagged off on Beach Road Matara and passed through Makawita, Kamburupitiya, Wilpita, Akuressa, Weligama, to Godagama on the Southern Expressway, Issadeen Town to finish at Matara. There were 23 check points in all.

Team Ironman 4x4 won the team event with 56 Debits while team Channa were second with 175 debits and Team Ruwansiri third with 436 debits. In the first round of the Motorkhana Championship Ashhar Hameem was placed second in the Automatic and Manual Car events while H.M. Ranjith and Rajith Uluwita won the two events respectively.
