Nuwara-Eliya Golf Club: Captains Cup, President Prize on 22-23 Oct.

The annually conducted Captains Cup and Presidents Prize two prestigious tournaments will take place on 22 and 23 October respectively at the century plus year old Nuwara-Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) course in the Hill Country.

The Historical first Captains Cup was played in 1897 while the first President Prize was played in 1984 at the esteemed Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. 

The first Captain’s Cup and President’s Prize were won by A.H. Dunsmure and Ranil Pieris respectively. The defending champion of the Captain’s Cup is the former national hockey player and former Isipathanian Mervin Preena while former Thomian Shafraz Zuhar was the runner-up.

The President’s Prize last year was won by former Kingswoodian and rugby promoter Nayana Dedigama and the Runner Up was Manjula Chandrasoma.

Captains Cup will take place on 22 October while the Presidents Prize will take centre stage on 23 October. Aitken Trophy too will take place on both days.
