Nuwara Eliya Golf Club events to tee off today

Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) has organised two events for this weekend at their beautiful golf course in Nuwara Eliya.

Following a pause in activity for the last four months due to COVID-19, golf tournaments have commenced once again under strict guidelines. Tee off is scheduled at 7.30 a.m. on both days.

NEGC will host the Sandy Perkins Cup today and Ernest Ringle Trophy tomorrow.  Regular competitors at NEGC will make their way up to compete in these two tournaments with a rich history over number of decades in the Hills. These two tournaments will be played to a stableford format and participants will be tested with strong winds and slightly wet conditions at this time of the year.

Maj. Gen. Srinath Rajapakse, Rizmy Sheriff, Rohan De Silva and Affli Raheem are some of the top contenders for the prizes on offer. Former Royal and National rugby player cum golfer Pavithra Fernando is bound to offer stiff competition to these seasoned golfers.
