De Alwis, who represented his Alma-mater S’Thomas College Mount Lavinia, on the cricket pitch, showed his versatility by outperforming the competition on the Golf course. His impressive round earned him the top spot, edging out the runner-up Vigneswaran Kandasamy, who carded a nett 72.
Finishing in third place was Nadesan Krishnakumar who continued his good form in the recent past and Hill Country Course being his favourite securing third place with a nett score of 75 in the event.
The monthly medal tournament, which is a regular fixture at the picturesque Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, attracted a strong field of players eager to test their skills on the challenging course nestled in the hills of the central Sri Lankan highlands. Once again the event was organised and was headed by NEGC Secretary Brig (Rtd) Nanda Hathurusinghe who is doing yeoman service for the Hill Country club.
