Ocean Lanka clinches Super League title at Mercantile Volleyball Championship 2024

Ocean Lanka Ltd.,’s Men’s Volleyball team triumphed at the recently concluded tournament, held at the Youth Centre’s Indoor Courts in Maharagama. 

The team exhibited exceptional skill and unwavering determination, defeating Maliban Group in a Thrilling 3-1 set match to capture the coveted Super League title.

This victory not only showcases their exceptional talent but also embodies the values of unity, grit, and commitment that they bring to every match. The team’s performance was nothing short of outstanding. They played with incredible skill and precision, dominating their opponents from start to finish. Their victory is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and we are all very proud of them.”  

Each member of the Ocean Lanka Ltd.’s Men’s Volleyball team played a pivotal role in securing this historic win. Powerful spikes, strategic blocks, and a relentless focus on the game propelled them past tough competition.

Ocean Lanka Ltd. honoured the exceptional performance of its volleyball team members who were recognised for their achievements at the Mercantile Volleyball Championship 2024. Praneeth Jayasinghe was awarded Best Spiker for his powerful and accurate attacks, while Ashen Sumiyuru was lauded as Best Receiver for his consistent and reliable passes. Shanuka Perera’s defensive prowess earned him the Best Blocker title, and Maleesha Jayawardena’s strategic play and precise setting skills secured the Best Setter award. Finally, Kavindu Pabasara’s overall outstanding performance throughout the tournament earned him the prestigious Best Player accolade.
