Oldest Big Match in Central Hills on 20 March

The oldest Big Match in the Central Hills, between Dharmaraja College and Kingswood College will take place on 20 and 21 March at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium for the 114th time. 

A press briefing was arranged recently to launch this mega event with sponsors from all over the island in the corporate sector propping up with both the leading schools in the country. In fact this is the second oldest Big Match in the country after Royal vs. St. Thomas.

Nestle Lanka, Elephant House, Dialog Axiata, Bank of Ceylon, Ceylon Biscuits and David Peiris Motor Company will be the sponsors for this Battle of the Maroons. Kingswood College will be led by Vinuka Pussapitiya while Rajans will see their skipper, Dulaj Bandara leading the outfit. The first big match between these two schools was played in 1893. The one day encounter between the two schools will be played at the same venue on 29 March.
