Over 1,200 at Novices Aquatic Championships 2022

Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union conducted Novices Aquatic Championship 2022 will take place from 15 to 17 September at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool Complex.

This event will be opened to novice level swimmers who could not achieve the SLASU novices qualification times and who did not previously place in the top 3 in a national event organised by the governing body SLASU except for Sri Lanka Schools All Island Age Group Novices Aquatic Championships.

This event will see Under 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, and over 20 years segments being worked off. Over 20 years will be opened out for both schools and clubs.

1,233 participants from over 100 schools and clubs are set to take part this time in the competition with an individual swimmer can participate in a maximum of three events only.

Due to the pandemic, this event did not take place after 2019. Visakha Vidyalaya (Women’s) and Sri Lanka Navy (Men’s) are the defending champions.
