Pakistan A team arrived in SL two days back

The Pakistan A team reached Kandy in the early hours of yesterday on their tour to Sri Lanka. This tour will be consisting of two four-day matches and three one-day matches to be played in Kandy and Dambulla respectively.

The tour squad of 18 players plus seven officials went through their initial PCR test at Katunayake where they all returned negative results. One more test will be done tomorrow before the team get the green light to resume training in Kandy before the commencement of their four-day match on 28 October at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium.

The tour will provide an ideal opportunity for several fringe Sri Lankan players to get earn their place in the national Test or one-day squads. The tour was arranged by President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Shammi Silva and his team, with Kandy coordination done by Secretary of Central Province Cricket Association Janaka Pathirana.

Pakistan’s Akif Javed did not make it for the tour, while Zeeshan Malik was replaced by 21-year-old Mohammed Thaha.
