People’s Leasing cosponsors 42nd Mercantile Hockey Sevens

People’s Leasing and Finance Plc, the top non-banking financial institution in Sri Lanka, will cosponsor the 42nd Mercantile Seven-a-side Hockey Championship conducted by the Mercantile Hockey Association (MCA) for the fourth consecutive year.

The event will get under way on 21 October at the P. Sara Oval with the participation of over 25 teams comprising over 100 ‘A’ division clubs and national players who will add more glamour to this annual event.

Over the last 41 years the MCA has conducted this tournament in a highly competitive manner with the participation of almost all top mercantile teams. The event will conclude with the awards presentation of all the other major tournaments – league, knockout and Sevens - conducted by MCA throughout the year. 

The MHA Sevens is the most glamorous and entertaining event on the Mercantile hockey calendar.

Hatton National Bank ‘A’, Commercial Bank of Ceylon ‘A’, Sampath Bank ‘A’, Commercial Bank of Ceylon ‘B’, Nations Trust Bank, Janashakthi Insurance, Seylan Bank, Singer (Sri Lanka) Plc ‘A’, MAS Holdings, Brown and Company, Hayleys, HSBC, Sampath Bank ‘B’, John Keells Holdings, Hatton National Bank ‘B’, Airport & Aviation Sri Lanka, WSO2 Lanka Ltd, Softlogic Holdings, Smithkline Beecham Ltd, MJF Croup, Orient Finance, DPMC, Aitken Spence, Sampath Bank ‘C’, Ceylon Tobacco, Richard Peiris Group and MAS Holdings ‘B’ are expected to take part in this year’s Mercantile Seven-a-Side hockey championship.
