Thiloka de Silva

Former under 13 captain/junior coloursman of St. Peter’s College Thiloka de Silva is determined to represent the Peterite 1st XI team following a successful stint with the College 2nd XI in the inter-school cricket tournament.

Thiloka first played cricket for the St. Peter’s Under-13 team.

Recalling his younger days Thiloka said: “After representing and captaining the Under-13 and Under-15 teams I went on to play for the College Under-17. Thereafter, I went on to play for the school 2nd XI team in 2020 and scored over 350 runs from 7 innings with one fifty and one century at an average of 50.50. I scored 90 against Prince of Wales College and 122 against Devananda College and also played in the Joe-Pete Mini battle in 2020. Our Head Coach Rohan Zoysa and his Assistant Coach Sriyapala sir and our 2nd XI MIC Wasantha sir and Sunanda sir are really helping me out in every possible way to be successful and I’m grateful to them.”

Thiloka’s father Heshan de Silva captained St. Peter’s College in 1985 and his elder brother Banuka de Silva opened the batting for the Peterites from 2017-2020.

Thiloka has scored over 250 runs for the 2nd XI team in the ongoing 2021 season at an average of 31 including two fifties and hopes to emulate his father and brother by playing for the 1st XI team.
